Dinosaur Personalised Toy Box

Here at Solid Wood Interiors Plus, we are a family business. Our three children ages 4.5yrs, 3.5yrs and 5 months have have been the inspiration behind our best creations such as Damons Dino Toy Box (coming soon!) and the Rocket Toy Box. My three year old happens to be the biggest dinosaur fan on the planet and needed a dinosaur storage solution.
We offer a very large selection of painted toy boxes and natural wood finish toy boxes which can all be personalised with a hand carved name in a choice of fonts. We offer three standard sizes. If you are looking for an extra large toy box this is the place to look.
Our solid wood toy boxes are super safe as they are fitted as standard with a slow closing lid. That can be seen here on our YouTube channel.

Each box has a dip in the front of the box as an additional safety feature. We only use waterbased paints on our painted toy boxes.

Announced in the SWI Plus blog and launched in the run up to Christmas 2010, SWI Plus launched its new range of personalised wooden toy boxes as inspired by our own three children.

The product range proved an instant hit and we strove to meet massive demands for the Christmas period.

The feedback that we have received from our customers absolutely blew us away and we knew that we just had to give this unique and special product a dedicated website of its own.

We’ve extended our range of Solid Wood Personalised Toy Boxes

Following our hugely successful Christmas period, SWI Plus have extended the range of personalised, bespoke wooden toy boxes in line with customer demand.

Over the 2010 Christmas period demand out stripped production on a product line that has proved hugely popular.

Following a large number of customer requests we have extended the range into matching our popular children's bedroom furniture range.

Soon to be launched, sneak previews of the Princess Tiara range, the Dinosaur Stomp range and the Rocket range can be seen on the SWI Plus shopping site.

All of our toybox products are hand built to order and can be customised in a number of ways through the shopping cart. Our slow close safety hinges are an industry leader and demonstrate our commitment to product excellence.

HiFi and AV Cabinets

Hi Folks, well were proud (as always) to announce that we are revising our HiFi and AV furniture range to bring it bang up to date with new designs for wooden TV units, Hi Fi Stands in light and dark woods.

Our Audio Visual section has been revised by our TV stand designer and will over the next 2 months be published onto our online store.

Included at this point in March are revisions to our Low Bench Stand range - with the flagship model ‘The Reference Low Bench Stand’ (designed to accommodate the ultimate in HiFi and AV reference status models). A lockable range is due onto the site within the next two weeks that makes the cabinet ‘childproof’ and safe from exploratory infant minds.

Our classic HiFi range has been re-photographed for 2010 to bring the models right up to date and were excited about several of the summer designs that we have in our TV stand designers draft folder ready for launch in Autumn 2010.

Bookcases (tall, short, narrow and wide)

Okay so we’ve had a lot of enquiries this month regarding bookcases. As its coming up towards the end of the financial year, a lot of businesses and home workers are looking to improve their work environment with some storage solutions for books and files.

So what should you look for in a bookcase? Seems simple no? The SWI top tips for bookcases are...

Always measure your space twice and consider the impact in the room of the piece (i.e. full floor to ceiling or short wide and low) . Or in fact is a children’s bookcase needed? (with obvious requirements for height and reach for the owner and stability of the piece) This approach should help you decide the best options for your room.

Think about the majority of the books/document holders/files that you are going to store and how this is likely to grow over the next few years (especially important for children and young adults entering into academic study).

Are most of your books academic style reference journals, or hard/paperback novel types. This will effect the number depth and height of the shelves.

Most importantly take your time to get your requirements just right - if your buying from Solid Wood Interiors - we’re confident that you’ll have your bookcase for years to come so a ‘buy it once approach’ is one that will pay dividends in the future.

How to reconstruct your Solid Wood Interiors table

Solid Wood Interiors are proud to announce as part of our commitment to you our customers, that we have recently completed and published on YouTube our online video guide to table reconstruction after delivery to your home.

The video demonstrates reconstruction for solid wood tables delivered in fully ‘knocked down’ and ‘leg assembly complete’ states. The production guides you through the rebuilding of the leg assembly and the final attachment of the solid wood table top, all in about two and a half minutes.

We will be adding to our online ‘how to guides & help section’ over the next few months with further articles to assist you in the care and maintenance of your SWI purchase.

Furniture Aftercare

looking after your furniture…

As with all solid wood furniture do not place in direct sunlight for prolonged periods or close to a radiator (over time this may cause fading and heat expansion cracks to occur).

During use, surfaces should be protected with place mats and coasters. Do not place hot or wet items directly onto the furniture surface and wipe up spills immediately.

Any surface marks on the chunky rustic pine furniture can be smoothed out using a well wrung out hot damp cloth and then if needed, when dry, may be re waxed with a lint free cloth (An old cotton T shirt is excellent for this use).

A Soft grade wire wool can be used on the smooth pine and followed by a
Re-wax (remembering always to work with the grain and never across it).

When re-waxing, use the wax sparingly and avoid a thick build up. Apply one or more thin layers of Fiddes Supreme Wax Furniture Polish and then buff with a clean soft cotton cloth until you achieve your desired finish.

You can keep your solid wood furniture dust free by spraying a small amount of furniture polish into a cloth and then simply wipe over and where necessary buff to a finish.

Do not use oil based polishes as these can cause the surface to become sticky and may act as a solvent for the wax layers.

Do not allow your furniture to become too dry or too damp, your furniture is a natural product and it will react accordingly.
