Wood Grain and Shading
All of your solid wood furniture is as unique as the tree that it was felled from. Each piece of furniture will have slightly different grain patterns that demonstrate the seasonal growth of the tree and variances in shading that further indicate the climatic conditions during periods of growth. This is an elegant and normal feature of natural solid wood furniture and provides for a beautiful natural finish.
Knots
Unique knots in your solid wood furniture are another natural property of all real wood furniture. Their presence does not effect performance and our skilled carpenters carefully select timber during construction to ensure that knots do not appear in areas that are designed to accommodate static or dynamic loads.
Expansion
All timber displays slight movement from season to season due to variations in atmospheric temperature and humidity. All of our selected timber used in the construction of your furniture is properly seasoned to minimise such movements. We do advise that you do not place your furniture in an area that will experience quick or extreme changes.

Wax Colours
Only by using the very best wax applied by hand to our hand crafted furniture can we achieve the highest standards that our clients have come to expect. We offer a choice of medium brown, dark brown or you can choose a painted finish as described below. You can also select to have your furniture provided bare (unwaxed) ready for you to colour yourself.

Medium Brown
Dark Brown
Our Rustic ranges intentionally leaves the natural textures of the wood to be displayed. This finish is brought out and emphasised during the hand wax process and can be seen in the example opposite. This type of finish is perfectly suited to most environments and will sit comfortably in both traditional and contemporary surroundings.
